Hans J.M. Wilson
Hans is the principal engineer and owner of Hans Wilson and Associates, Inc. Licensed as a civil engineer in Florida in 1988, Hans’ principal focus has been in the marine environment, with a mix of hard structure design and creation of marine habitats. Current responsibilities include site analysis, engineering design, regulatory permitting strategies, and construction administration of coastal marinas and docks, new and maintenance dredging projects, coastal structures, and barrier island projects. Specific responsibilities and expertise include development feasibility studies, project management, regulatory permitting, development of construction plans and specifications, design and analysis of hydrodynamic surveys, modeling of flows and flushing within marina basins and waterways, assessment of benthic habitats, and analysis of environmental impacts.
Hans is responsible for all reports and data interpretation related to Environmental Resource Permitting, development suitability reports, and site inventories. Hans is an expert in environmental design, permitting, and enforcement issues relative to local, state and federal permitting agencies. Hans has been qualified as an expert witness with the Department of Environmental Protection regarding Environmental Resource Permitting, flushing studies, and engineering surveys. Specific expertise involves marine design and flushing surveys for water quality and habitat impacts, construction management, and regulatory permitting.

Chester has over twenty five years experience in civil engineering, surveying, and waterfront related engineering projects. Current responsibilities include site assessment and data collection, construction administration, engineering design review, and regulatory permitting of marinas and docks, dredging projects, coastal structures, and barrier island projects. Specific responsibilities include Construction Administration which includes development of construction plans and specifications, project management, permit compliance during construction and project close-out.
As the Senior Project Manger Chester coordinates with HWA staff regarding project sequencing, permit strategy, and project priority management. Chester’s technical skills in civil engineering, surveying, marine related fields, computers, and computer assisted design are the result of a blend of field experience and continuing education. Based on an active participation in boating Chester has over 37 years of direct experience with waterfront facilities in Lee, Charlotte, and Collier counties. This direct field experience has resulted in a “from the ground up” user perspective regarding construction that is essential to providing a quality final product for our clients.

Robin is the chief financial officer, office administrator, and research assistant for Hans Wilson and Associates, Inc. She has an extensive background which includes 15 years in office administration in the health care industry. She handles accounting, billing, scheduling, and project coordination. She is proficient in accounting software (Quickbooks Pro) and all Microsoft programs. Among her regular duties as C.F.O. Robin also manages legal research, project coordination, and task billing. She also holds a real estate brokers license and specializes in the listing and selling of waterfront related properties.

Johanna has an extensive background in the legal field having spent 19 years working for general law firms handling domestic relations, criminal and probate matters. She has an extensive knowledge of governmental affairs, agency processing, and legal issues.
Johanna’s responsibilities include the coordination of permit application processing, project tracking, and monitoring overall project progress. She acts as a project liaison, both internally between staff and project managers regarding resource allocation, and as a communications expediter between project managers and agency personnel. Johanna is involved in most every project in the office, and is the point person regarding the current status of any given project.
Education: Paralegal Certification from Florida International College
As HWA’s ‘Director of First Impressions’, Tina provides essential administrative support services for the entire team and covers a broad spectrum of responsibilities. A few of those essential duties include services such as managing of the daily operations of the front office, general project coordination and research, as well as client budget/invoicing support.
Prior to joining HWA in 2012, Tina provided years of administrative management services at one of the area’s premiere private school.

Frank 'Tres' McMahon

Frank has over 13 years of experience in engineering land surveying. Having started his career as a tree trimmer with a very renowned tree expert company, he gained knowledge in working with the southern company in providing line clearance in coastal Bay County, Florida. Upon leaving the company, Frank went to work for a surveying and mapping company as a rodman, progressing to field supervisor of six surveying field crews. He learned all aspects of land surveying with a major focus on construction and engineering surveying. With his great-grandfather being a land surveyor in East Texas, Frank was happy to join the “family trade”. In 2010, he decided to leave surveying and get his degree in Civil Engineering. Prior to graduating, Frank passed the fundamentals of engineering exam and upon graduation was awarded his Engineering Intern certification. As part of the HWA team, he assists with on-site project assessments, client communication and coordination, calculations and design utilizing his expertise in surveying and engineering.

Frank 'Tres' McMahon
Professional Surveyor and Mapper/Project Engineer
Jonathan is a recent graduate from Florida Gulf Coast University’s School of Engineering. He is responsible for managing and coordinating computer design, production of project drawings, providing basic site mapping services and overseeing company computer design standards.
Jonathan’s current responsibilities consist of preparation of location maps, historical aerial graphics, conceptual and final site plans, and representative cross sections for all projects. He is also involved in the graphics associated with Environmental Assessments, Protected Species Assessments, Environmental Resource Permit applications, and engineered construction plans and specifications.
Ian graduated from Texas A&M University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering. Prior to graduating he passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and was awarded his Engineering Intern certification. He then went on to work in Oil and Gas as a Hydraulic Fracturing Engineer for Halliburton in their Production Enhancement service line. During his time at Halliburton he worked all across the oilfields of Texas and Louisiana, and rapidly rose the ranks to become the lead engineer for one of San Antonio’s frac crews.
After four and a half years at Halliburton he returned to Texas A&M to obtain a Masters of Engineering in Ocean Engineering. He completed his Master’s degree in December of 2017 and began working at HWA in early January of 2018.
Ian’s current responsibilities include report and proposal writing, preparation of conceptual and final site plans, and assisting with field work.
