House Bill 7023 – Permit Extension

As part of HWA’s continued service delivery, we wanted to notify you of permitting options associated with HB 7023.
Permitting is an arduous and often times expensive proposition. While using the extent of your active permit might not be a current option, the extension process outlined below in HB7023 is a much more cost effective opportunity to keep your permit active for an additional 2 year period, rather than have to secure a new permit after it expires.
A portion of this bill provides an additional two year extension for any building permit, and any permit issued by the Department of Environmental Protection or by a water management district which has an expiration date from January 1, 2014, through January 1, 2016, for a period of 2 years after its previously scheduled date of expiration. This extension includes any local government-issued development order or building permit. While this particular bill does not extend to the Army Corps of Engineers, those permits may also be extended. PLEASE NOTE that the State and/or local agencies must receive the request for extension no later than December 31, 2014.
Please contact us if you would like additional information regarding this limited opportunity to extend your permit. As part of your project team, we at Hans Wilson and Associates stand ready to assist you in extending your current permit(s).
