A key piece to the success of most waterfront projects is well-documented and accurate data collection of the site for analysis. HWA utilizes state-of-the-art data collection technology and equipment to compile thorough and accurate hydrographic evaluations. The data acquired is used to assess the site for pre-development, planning and design, performance monitoring, and sediment transport modeling. Also referred to as “Bathymetric Surveys”, the depth information is key to the overall design of a dredging project, a marina or multi-family docking facility, and basic navigational assessments. A bathymetric survey is also the basis for hydrographic surveys conducted to assess the flushing characteristics of marina basins, channels, canals, and waterways. A Flushing Study will incorporate submerged current meters, velocity drogues, and marking dyes to determine how a system performs both before and after improvements to the waterway are constructed. This is important to maintaining water quality in our waterways.
